JobShield AI ("we", "our", or "the extension") is a browser extension that helps users identify potentially fake or scam job postings. This policy explains what information the extension accesses, how it is used, and your choices.
When you visit a supported job posting page, the extension may read publicly visible page content to perform analysis, including:
This content is processed on your device to generate a risk score and explanation. We do not operate a server that receives this data by default.
The extension uses Chrome's local storage (chrome.storage.local) to save:
This data remains on your device unless you uninstall the extension or clear extension storage.
If you optionally enable AI analysis and provide your own third-party API credentials, sanitized job posting fields may be sent directly from your browser to the API provider you configure (for example, OpenAI). We do not receive or store that transmission on our servers. You are responsible for reviewing the privacy policy of any third-party API provider you use.
AI analysis is disabled by default.
JobShield AI does not execute remote code. All extension code is bundled in the package
submitted to the Chrome Web Store. The extension does not use eval() or load
external JavaScript files at runtime.
We do not sell, rent, or transfer user data to third parties. We do not use data for advertising, creditworthiness, or lending purposes. Data is not used for purposes unrelated to job posting scam analysis.
JobShield AI is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at this URL with an updated date.
